No go for tomorrow…
Need a few more numbers for touch @ 9:30AM tomorrow (Monday)
We’ve got 8 and a maybe. Preferably we’ll make it to 12 before green lighting the game so comment if you are IN.
Drinks tonight and touch on Monday
Team, a few have expressed interest in heading out tonight for a few lazy drinks. Let’s meet at a central location and see where the night takes us. I propose RFD in Chinatown (on 7th between H & I Street) at 8PM.
We can use this as an opportunity to refuel for a touch game on Monday – Who’s keen? If you are, please respond to this post with a yay or nay and also what time you would prefer:
Option A: 9:30AM (We’ll give everyone an extra 30 mins of sleep ;-))
Option B: 5:00PM
Let us know about Monday and in the meantime, hope to see you tonight
It’s game time
Slightly lean on numbers but I’m assuming there will be a few extras that rock up as usual. See you at 9am tomorrow.
Get your sweat on for Saturday touch @ 9AM
playing on the lawn
Hey guys were just north of where we usually play. Still on the Whitehouse lawn. We’ve got tons of space!
Rugby’s still on, but there’s a chance security boots us off…
Hey guys,
Given the anniversary of the March on Washington, security and crowds might overwhelm the Mall and prevent us from playing. Apparently the procession was no trouble on Saturday, and hopefully it won’t be an issue today. I have no way of knowing right now what the situation will be like so all I can say is that we head down and try to play. I’ll assess and post a blog entry if we get kicked off though. We might be able to change locations to a different spot on the mall, especially if softball games are cancelled. With some luck there won’t be any issues.
We’re on with an eye on the rain…
Hey guys,
Rugby’s on, but lookout for a blog post around 5:00. If it’s raining more than lightly, I’ll have to cancel. I think we’ll be fine though.
Otherwise, it’s the usual Wednesday drill. Meet at 15th and Constitution at 6. For those who are willing and able, feel free to arrive closer to 5:30 or so.
I have neither the time, nor the inclination…
to explain the importance of Wednesday rugby to a group of softball and flag football players who rise and sleep under the blanket of athleticism that only ruggers truly provide, then question the crazy game we play. I’d prefer they just acknowledge our awesome moves, and exceeding level of fitness, and went on their way. Otherwise, I suggest they pick up the rock and stand ready. Either way, I don’t give a damn what they think sports really are and the field space they’re entitled to.
Are we ordering a Code Red for Wednesday rugby? Let me know if you’re in.
