On the first day of Christmas…

… Santa gave you some kick-ass weather to come get your touch rugby on! Yup, its gonna be a scorcher at 62F. Gadzukes, you might even need your sunscreen.

 

I realize some of you may be heading home over the holiday season… But there will be touch for the few, the proud, the hardiest of souls willing to stand up to the slow tide of history and shout “NO, I WILL PLAY TOUCH RUGBY THIS SATURDAY!”

 

Those who are in are urged to reply to this post by saying “PAIN IS TEMPORARY. GLORY IS FOREVER.”

Another tournament in Columbia MD

Some people already know about this, but thought I’d post the specifics:

What: Columbia Touch Rugby and Advanced Threat Analysis, Inc. will host a touch rugby tournament.

When: Saturday, July 27, 2013 beginning at 930AM with a captains meeting. Match play will begin at 10AM Sharp. Teams that are on-site will play first. Try and NOT be late.

Where: Behind Cradlerock Elementary School off of Broken Land Parkway and Cradlerock Way North. Address is: 6700 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, MD 21045

How: Touch tournament will follow FIT rules. Each team will supply a Captain. 6 on the field at a time. Roster size is 12. Exceptions can be made. Looking to advertise and market the sport in the area. Pool play for introduction and seeding and then single elimination tournament. 4 match minimum. 10 minute halves, 2 min half time. 2 fields running at once. Each team will supply a ref when not playing. So bring your whistles.

Entry Fee: $25 per team to be paid by the Captain before their teams first match.

Awards: Trophy/Plaque to 1st and 2nd place finishers. $500 to winner.

NOTES: Free water will be available at the pitch. Hot dogs and Hamburgers will be sold at the pitch. Those are not free. $1 hotdogs, $2 hamburgers w/cheese or without. Bring your tents or shade. It’s getting hot!
