Hey Guys,

Let’s meet at the Saturday field (17th and Constitution).  Let’s get there on time, if not early, so we can secure a spot to play, particularly those with the cones who can set up the field.  The softballers are out in full force so spacing is less generous.  Apparently last week we shared our field with a softball squad–they played more west, by 17th street, while we played more east, closer to the monument.  I don’t see why we can’t replicate that configuration.  As far as I can tell, no one has a permit to reserve the part of the Mall where we play. 

I’ll see you guys at 6:00, or at 5:45…  Bring a ball.  Bring cones.

Hey everyone, I think there’s just enough to play. Mel’s going to try to secure the Saturday field so meet there at 6:00, but be prepared to move if necessary.

Hey Guys,

We’re on for tonight at 6:00.  Let’s try the Saturday field (17th and Constitution) again.  No need moving elsewhere if softball/kickball haven’t taken over just yet. 

Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it, and I’ll be gone for Saturday too.  Weather permitting, I’m back next Wednesday.  Have fun out there while I’m away!

You’ll be sans cones if no one retrieves them from Olly.  He’s willing to drop them off (within reason) if someone can coordinate meeting.  It’s axiomatic that rugby + cones > rugby – cones.  Olly is at 12th and K.  Contact me or respond to his posts below to get in touch.

In order to avoid this craziness in the future, I suggest we divide the cones.  Two people can hold them separately so that if one person can’t make it for some reason, at least there’s a backup set.  Even with fewer cones, we can still define an adequate field.  Let’s do that moving forward.

We’ve got numbers and great weather.  Game’s on tomorrow at 9:30 at the normal spot (17th and Constitution, near the wooden fenced area).  Don’t forget the ball and cones!

Olly works on K street, so if someone can swing by his office tomorrow to pick them up, that would be ideal.
