Hey gang,
We’re low on numbers for today. If you’re interested in playing please respond. We need about 5 more ins. Lets not let a good government shutdown go to waste!
Hey gang,

Hey Guys,
Who’s in for rugby tomorrow? Let’s get numbers.
Given the shutdown, I’ll be out a bit earlier, closer to 5:00 or so. I’ll be doing some drills and and discussing strategy so we can improve. Come out then if you’re interested and can make it. Otherwise, same time at 6:00.
(PS, this is all contingent that the Mall grass area is accessible. I’ll post tomorrow if it’s not).
Hey Everyone,
Cliff just posted that the rugby tournament was cancelled because three teams withdrew to play in a national tournament down in Florida. To those who’ve paid me, I’ll return your money the next time I see you–hopefully Wednesday.
I know we were all looking forward to this, but there will be more tourneys in the future to be sure. Plus, this gives us an opportunity to practice more and perfect our play.
I’ll post about Wednesday rugby tomorrow.
We’re on! See you guys out there tomorrow.
Who’s in? Let us know by replying to this post.
BTW who has the cones these days?
And remember, next weekend is the tournament so come along and get some practice in!
Hey Guys,
Rugby’s on. Let’s meet where we typically meet on Saturdays. (Check the
“Game Time and Location” section of this blog if you don’t know where that is).
The spot is occupied by another team that plays rugby, but we can play right next to them on the other side of the concrete path. There’s a possibility that moving locations ends up being difficult and less than ideal, but over the past few weeks the softball teams seem to have left and field space appears ample. If we can get the space, it’ll definitely be an improvement from our usual Wednesdays 1/2-sized pitch.
Let’s meet at 6:00. I’ll be there closer to 5:45 to get a lay of the land, so feel free to come early if you can make it. See everyone out there.
-PS If you want to play in the tournament on October 5th, try to bring me $20 today, or next Wednesday.
Hey DCTouch,
Let me know who’s in for tomorrow. We might be able to play where we normally play on Saturdays (or right next to it).
See everyone tomorrow at 10!
Hey Guys,
Who’s in for Saturday rugby? I pushed the time back an hour so you guys can nurse your hangovers for 60 more minutes…
Weather’s looking good too. Ideal conditions for a good run. Let’s get out there.
Here’s the basic info for the tournament. I’ll discuss specific DC Touch rugby details this Saturday and again on the Wednesday before.
The Announcement:
The Wild Geese “Old Boys” Rugby Football Club is hosting a touch rugby tournament at Gosling Park (20500 Martinsburg Road, Dickerson, MD 20842) on Saturday 5th October 2013 starting at 11am – with a pre-match training from 10-10:30 for beginners. The tournament will raise funds for Wild Geese Charities in the D.C. area and “Hope in South Africa.”
The day will be divided into two groups: very competitive and competitive. We will group new and still learning teams together and allow the high speed, low drag teams to compete against their same level. This will ensure that everyone gets to enjoy the day. 2 x 12 minute halves with a 5 minute breather. Youth 12 and above welcome (or speedy and experienced 10/11 year olds).
Gosling Park is situated on a beautiful historic farm site with 2 pitches, not far from Poolesville, MD. Located near the C&O canal – which is great for hiking and biking – bring the family and kids for a day of fun.
Players should bring plenty of water and everyone should bring chairs and shade tents (there are no shade trees next to pitch). BBQ and grilled items as well as a few vegetarian dished will be provided. The tournament will provide bottle water and you will need to bring beer.
$20 per player
