Rained out Wednesday

Probability of precipitation is very high, and it looks like it will be more than a drizzle. Along with the substantial rain there are going to be strong winds and chilly temps. Usually a little water won’t stop us, but the conditions don’t seem conducive to fun or good play. Plus it would be irresponsible to encourage people to come out and catch a cold.

There is still a chance that the rain will wear out as it gets to the city, but it’s not likely today. If the forecast improves by 2pm, there will be a new post. But as of now touch is off for Wednesday.

Touch on WW2 memorial side of Washington monument 5:30pm

The official weather forecast calls this weather pleasant, but I’m going to go further and say it’s excellent! Should be sunny, around 68F, and no precipitation. Hard to believe it was snowing a week ago.

Sun sets at 7:21p, so we’ll be out there until people get tired or it’s too dark to play. We’ll probably stick to this side of the monument for a week or two since the rangers seem to be patrolling the Smithsonian side. Maybe we’ll switch back depending on how things go. Tidal Basin should open up in April, so that’s definitely something to look forward to. In any case this space will be updated with the field location.

Monday at Bundy field 5:30pm

The rain looks like it’s going to hold off until at least 7, so touch is on today. We’ve gotten lucky with some warm weather, but it will still be pretty windy out. Not sure how much competition there will be for with the wind and threat of rain. Five o’clock if you want to throw around early, otherwise the usual 5:30 start time.

Super Stoked Saturday

9:30 on the Mall near Smithsonian metro stop. We’re facing a great weekend. It’s going to start a little chilly around 44F/6C but will be up to 54F/12C by midday.

There are varying reports of trucker convoys that are supposed to be in town this weekend. I haven’t seen anything reliable about significant numbers actually showing up, and no announcements of road closures.

For anyone new or has forgotten their way to touch, below is the location. And as always, good luck to our local Old Glory on the road in sunny San Diego.
