Directions are hard. I should stick to monuments. WW2 memorial side

Perfect weather for some after work touch. Cool, but not cold, light breeze and no precipitation. Sun doesn’t set until 7:35, so we’ll be able to have a nice long session.
It’s going to start off a little chilly, but the sun will be out and it will get to a reasonable 50ish. There will still be crowds for the cherry blossoms, but no specific event to contend with. Looking forward to a fun run.
Also looking forward to getting back on the tidal basin. April 16 we’ll get our favorite Saturday spot back.
Spring is back (cool but not cold) and the cherry blossom crowds are thinning (a little)! Come and join us for pick up touch at the Mall between WW2 Memorial and the Monument!
A polar vortex pushed some uncharacteristic cold weather over us. It will be cold and breezy this evening (34F/1C, with wind chill 22F/-5C). So get back into the winter mindset for one day and come ready for fun.
Be prepared for lingering cherry blossom traffic and parking issues. Although I don’t see any road closures or special events today
The rock n roll half marathon is tomorrow morning so there are some road closures. See the map here https://www.washingtonian.com/2022/03/22/map-dc-street-closures-for-saturdays-rock-n-roll-half-marathon-and-5k/ Give yourself a little extra time for the traffic and parking. The weather will be chilly but bearable, no rain.
Old Glory home game against NOLA at 3pm. Go Old Glory!
Sorry for the back and forth. The weather report looked so bad this morning, but as usual these things can change quickly this time of year. It’s hard to reverse course and in this case the momentum continued into not playing.
We’ll still be out on Saturday by the WW2 side of the Washington monument.
The storm is moving through and breaking up faster than anticipated. It will still be a little chilly, some wind and you’ll likely get wet, but only a light rain. Still trying to confirm at least 12 before we are definitively on.
Plan on Bundy field 5:30pm. Less mud, less traffic, more parking. Low likelihood of fighting for space due to the weather. The definitive call on or off should be about 4:30
Probability of precipitation is very high, and it looks like it will be more than a drizzle. Along with the substantial rain there are going to be strong winds and chilly temps. Usually a little water won’t stop us, but the conditions don’t seem conducive to fun or good play. Plus it would be irresponsible to encourage people to come out and catch a cold.
There is still a chance that the rain will wear out as it gets to the city, but it’s not likely today. If the forecast improves by 2pm, there will be a new post. But as of now touch is off for Wednesday.
The official weather forecast calls this weather pleasant, but I’m going to go further and say it’s excellent! Should be sunny, around 68F, and no precipitation. Hard to believe it was snowing a week ago.
Sun sets at 7:21p, so we’ll be out there until people get tired or it’s too dark to play. We’ll probably stick to this side of the monument for a week or two since the rangers seem to be patrolling the Smithsonian side. Maybe we’ll switch back depending on how things go. Tidal Basin should open up in April, so that’s definitely something to look forward to. In any case this space will be updated with the field location.
