Team, we have the numbers, see you out there on the field tomorrow (Saturday) at 10AM! In the meantime, I leave you with one of my best childhood memories of Australian rugby league’s greatest tries: the 1994 79th minute defeat of New South Wales by Queensland in the infamous State of Origin.

Rugby again this Saturday (on the mall)
Team we had a fantastic turn out last week on the mall. Like usual, there were some stealthy runs, daring passes, some near clashes (Ryan needs a new shirt) and plenty of heated reffing calls (Chris needs a shirt).
Let’s make it happen again this Saturday! As usual let us know if you’re in by commenting on this post. We’ll be playing in our old spot on the mall which is slightly west of the Washington Monument. Looks like we’ll have perfect weather again in the 60s. See you there at 10AM!
Playing now south side of White House
Sorry guys for the last minute change, our field has been taken today by some unathletic looking sport. We’re on the south side of the White House instead! Game starts soon, see you here!
We’re On
Hey Guys,
We’re on for tomorrow at the Mall. See ya’ll at 10am!
Mall Ball
Hey Guys,
Not sure if everyone has heard, but the authorities (cops) informed us at the end of last Saturday’s game that we cannot continue to play at the Adams Morgan field until we have our permit. We’re awaiting our long overdue paperwork from the parks department so we can play in Ads Mo officially. In the mean time, we’ll have to return to our old stomping ground at the Mall. We’re located right next to (east of) 17th Street, and south of Constitution–very close to the Washington Monument. You can copy these coordinates on Google Maps for a more precise location 38.891246, -77.03844. Now I just need to know who’s in for 10 a.m. this Saturday. The weather’s going to be perfect. Hard to say no.
Good to go for Saturday, April 13th.
Hey All,
The game’s on for tomorrow at 10. See you there!
Who can make it for Saturday the 13th?
All,
The rugby gods have blessed us. Saturday at 10am we’re looking at a perfect day for touch–60 degrees, an easy breeze, and rain-softened ground that won’t strain the knees (see what I did there). That’s right, you can hold off on the farmers tan for at least another week before the blistering weather arrives (although, it’s 90 degrees today…). Let me know if you’re in, or if you have lesser matters to attend to. If you can bust a rhyme in your response, that’d obviously be ideal.
Ok, We’re On
Hey guys,
The numbers are light, but we have just enough to play. We’re on for tomorrow same place, same time. See you all on the pitch!
We need numbers for Saturday!
Hey Guys,
So far we’ve got 5 people who are in for Saturday. We need at least another 5 more to get a good game on. Respond to this post or the previous if you’re in for Saturday. We won’t get out there unless we have enough positive responses to the blog. It’s going to be nice out, plus, there’s nothing better to do at 10 am on Saturday so get your butts out on the pitch!
PS If you already responded to the previous post this week, no need to comment again.
Touch is on for Saturday, April 6th.
Guys,
We all saw how embarrassing Obama’s attempt at athleticism was over Easter Weekend. Let’s bring some pride back to DC, and to the United States of America for that matter, by playing the awesome rugby that we play. Remember, nothing boosts municipal spirits better than dummy runs past off-side defenders, and crisp passes that flirt with forward calls but are actually perfectly parallel, which end up in the hands of the winger who cunningly sidesteps the opposition and speedily scores the winning try and gets first dibs at the Gatorade Wences brought. DC clearly needs us.
Comment and let us know if you’re in for the glory this Saturday, April 6th at 10am.
